Setting Up Payments with Stripe

Connect your Stripe account to accept payments for paid classes.

Bookabee uses Stripe Connect to process payments. When a parent books a paid class, the payment goes directly to your Stripe account, with a small platform fee deducted automatically.

Connecting your Stripe account

  1. Go to the Payments section in your dashboard.
  2. Click "Connect with Stripe" to begin the Stripe onboarding process.
  3. Follow Stripe's instructions to set up or connect your Stripe account. You'll need your bank details and business information.
  4. Once complete, you'll be redirected back to Bookabee. Your Stripe status will show as connected.

Stripe status indicators

  • Charges enabled — you can accept payments from parents.
  • Payouts enabled — Stripe can send money to your bank account.
  • Details submitted — you've completed Stripe's onboarding requirements.

Important

You must have Stripe Connect set up with charges enabled before parents can book paid classes. Free classes don't require Stripe.

Understanding fees

When a parent pays for a class, the price they see includes the class price plus a small booking fee. The booking fee covers Bookabee's platform fee and estimated Stripe processing costs. The class price goes to your Stripe account, minus the platform fee which is collected automatically.
