Refunds

What to expect when an activity provider refunds your booking.

Bookings are not refunded automatically when you cancel. Whether you're refunded — and by how much — is a decision the activity provider makes. If they do refund you, here's what happens.

How you'll know

You'll get an email from the activity provider letting you know a refund has been issued, the amount, and (sometimes) a reason. Stripe — the payment processor we use — will also email you a refund receipt automatically.

When you look up your booking, the booking detail page shows any refunds applied alongside the original payment.

When the money arrives

Refunds go back to the original card you used to pay. Stripe typically takes 5–10 business days to return the funds, depending on your bank. Some banks are faster, some slower — there's nothing the activity provider can do to speed it up once the refund has been issued.

Partial refunds

Some refunds are for the full class price; others are partial (for example, a goodwill credit for one missed session). The booking confirmation email and your booking detail page will show the exact amount refunded.

Booking fees

Bookabee booking fees and Stripe processing fees are not refundable — Stripe doesn't return its fee on a refund. A "full refund" therefore covers the class price, not the booking fee on top of it.

I think I should have been refunded but haven't

Cancelling your booking on Bookabee does not trigger a refund. If you haven't had a refund email and you think you're owed one, contact the activity provider directly — their contact email is on the class page and on your booking confirmation.

Note

Bookabee passes refund instructions to Stripe but doesn't hold the money — it goes straight back to your bank from the provider's Stripe account.
